Wine & Dine : Rocky Mountain Cabernet & a Hottub

Rocky Mountain Cabernet : Wine & Dine : Design Wine Sunshine

I have a confession to make.
Even though I live in sunny, extraordinary, gorgeous Colorado, I have yet to embrace winter.
I have made this winter my happiest yet (much due to my awesome keep-me-warm beau & this killer winter-tough Cocoon Jacket from Nau – above), but I still wish it could be summer… forever. Whenever Blaise & friends want to get their snowboarding on, my thoughts always drift to this image of three friends gazing over the Rockies while perfectly warm in a bikini, soaking in a hottub. That’s another idea of my kind of paradise. To paint the picture … I’d be joyfully sipping this Rocky Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon. { I recently received it as a gift and OH MY GOODNESS – phenomenal! } Such rich, bold flavors of blueberry and mocha; fruity yet sultry – I am so in love. Plus, this label is part of Wines for a Cause. For every bottle purchased, this amazing organization will donate $2 to the National Parks Foundation. How could it get better than that? Good karma in a bottle of full-bodied red with an appreciation of the outdoors? Sign me up. With this Cabernet, I’d whip up a vegan version of Fettuccine with Spicy Zucchini-Tomato Sauce, then toss on a festive two-piece and hop right in. Perhaps with a good book, perhaps some chill meditation, whatever calls to me. That’s what the Rockies are all about. They’re my zen masters – the wise mountains & my 10 year old Labrador, of course. Where do you find your zen?
Cheers! Court

WAR EAGLE! Wine & Dine : Auburn’s National Championship for Wine Lovers

Design Wine Sunshine's Wine & DIne : Auburn's National Championship - War Eagle!

The time is wine, my Auburn friends!
We’re hosting an Auburn National Championship watch party tonight, complete with this O’Lillo Red Blend. Yes, I know that’s a hawk instead of an eagle, but after a half an hour gathering half of Hazel’s staff to find either an orange/blue label including either a tiger/eagle, we all were happy to complete our quest with the beautifully embossed label of O’Lillo, & I’ve heard it’s exquisite! I love the vinter’s description : ” Beautiful ruby red colour. Traditional in its complexity, roundness, & elegance, yet modern in its intense fruitiness, accessibility, & soft tannins. Ruby colour, with scents of varietal flavours.”
Stay tuned to see how the party unfolded! Next to my wine of choice, I’ll be wearing my lucky scarf, lucky shirt, & next to our handmade decor & blue/orange hors d’oeuvres, Blaise will be making some sort of lucky burger (like these Fried Green Tomato Sliders) to cheer on Auburn in the Rose Bowl. Wish us luck, & Warrrrrrrrr Eagle!

Cheers, Court

Wine & Dine : Sol’Ice on the Dock

design-wine-sunshine-wine-dine
As soon as I saw this Sol’Ice concept label I was like damn (a nice review from a graphic designer)! And of course, from there my mind drifted off to pairing it with a painterly, whimsical dress, this amazing vegan Acorn Squash with White Beans and Sage recipe I found this past weekend, while amongst the melody of the sea shore next to my illuminated dockside table. That’s just one of my many ideas of paradise. What’s yours?

Wine & Dine : Fun & Playful – “Like a Pinot Noir”

Design-Wine-Sunshine-Wine-Dine-Fun-Playful

Right now, I’m in the midst of photo booth madness. All I can really think about is a swing under a palm tree, wearing this super soft/thin/energetic swimsuit cover-up, noshing on this fabulous grilled vegetable salad, and sipping on this fun & playful wine. Anyone who’s able to fulfill this dream, keep it real for me!
Cheers to the busy life…

Wine & Dine : Rockus Bockus

Design-Wine-Sunshine-Wine-Dine-Rockus-Bockus

It was love at first sight with Rockus Bockus. The label (high-five, designer!) had such charisma! Then I read its description & couldn’t wait to taste it. From the first sip, I was forever a fan. It’s a perennial fave, always in my wine rack. Next to the delicious full body & might I say, ‘slammin’ flavor’, it’s affordable, goes well with an eclectic variety of dishes, is perfect to bring for dinner parties – annnnd drinks beautifully on its own. I’d love to drink it wearing this dress, noshing on these vegan Seitan Fajitas, while chillin’ on this funky patio.
